Our people and our culture are some of the top reasons why people enjoy coming to work. My colleague, Lewis Foggin, Tax Manager in Glasgow, shares with us a recap of our most recent social event...

"It’s a widely known fact that, for many of us, where we choose to spend our careers will largely be determined by the people we work with, the culture that we work within, and the relationships that we build.  Grant Thornton UK are also aware of the importance of maintaining a culture which encourages collaboration and provides the means for its people to foster positive and long-lasting friendships that will prove to be invaluable throughout their careers.

Knowing the importance of keeping their people motivated and engaged, Grant Thornton UK (particularly within the Scottish practice) invest heavily in a number of social events throughout the year, with the sole purpose of every event being to bring our people across all departments and disciplines together in one place to get to know each other better, and strengthen the relationships that will allow us to work more closely together, more efficiently, service our clients better, and ultimately go to market as one Scottish practice.

The most recent of these events was the Scottish practice’s annual boat cruise, this year along the River Forth!  You only have to take one look at the picture below to realise how much of a success this was, and how tight knit a workforce we are!  Of all the events that we have throughout the year, the boat cruise is undoubtedly a crowd favourite."
